Virginia Polytechnic Institute and State University ("Virginia Tech") provides the VT Alerts Automated Notification System for use by all current students, faculty, and staff subject to the following Conditions of Use ("COU"). In addition, when subscribing to this specific service, you and Virginia Tech will be subject to any guidelines or rules applicable to this service. Virginia Tech may communicate to you or post from time to time at the VT Alerts website (www.alerts.vt.edu) these guidelines or rules and these shall be deemed part of the COU.

Description of the VT Alerts Automated Notification System

Virginia Tech's VT Alerts Automated Notification System provides subscriber service to an automated system for delivery of messages to multiple recipients and multiple communications devices, and for processing the recipients' responses to those messages, branded as the VT Alerts Automated Notification System (collectively, the "Services"). Unless explicitly stated otherwise, any new features that augment or enhance the current Services will be subject to the COU.

What You Must Do To Use the Services

In order to use the Service, you must obtain access to the World Wide Web, have authorized use of MY VT and be a current recognized affiliate of the Virginia Tech system.

Your Subscription Information Must Be Accurate, Current and Complete

In consideration for your use of the Services, you agree to: (a) provide true, accurate, current and complete information about yourself, and (b) maintain and promptly update the Subscription Data to keep it true, accurate, current and complete. If you provide any information that is untrue, inaccurate, not current or is incomplete, you understand that any notifications sent via the VT Alerts Automated Notification System may not reach you.

Conduct when Using the VT Alerts Automated Notification System

1. As a subscriber, you agree that you will not knowingly restrict or inhibit any other user from using the Service.
2. As a subscriber, you agree that you will not impersonate any other person or entity, or misrepresent your affiliation with any other person or entity.
